How To Check And Edit SSD TRIM Status On Windows

[Use Simple Commands To Check, Disable or Enable TRIM On SSD]

TRIM support is very important for good performance of SSD’s. Generally Windows automatically enables TRIM support for all SSD’s, but if you still want to figure out if your SSD has TRIM support, then follow these steps:

  1. Run Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Enter the following command – fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify
  3. If the follow up to the command is DisableDeleteNotify = 0 , then TRIM support for your SSD is enabled.
  4. If the follow up to the command is DisableDeleteNotify = 1 , then TRIM support for your SSD is disabled.
  5. If TRIM isn’t enabled and you’d like to enable it, then enter the following command – fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0
  6. If TRIM is enabled and you’d like to disable it, then enter the following command – fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 1

With these easy steps, you will be able to easily check your TRIM status and edit it too.
