How To Create Wi-Fi Hotspots In Windows 10

[Simple Commands For Easy Hotspot Creation]

Sharing your internet connection with others, and letting them share their connections with you is an integral part of the day to day interactions we have with other people.

This sharing of bandwidth is often not as complicated as it sounds, as most mobile devices have dedicated tools to let you access and create them.

But this option can easily go out the window, if you Forget Wi-Fi Passwords, or simply aren’t in the range of strong enough signals to make it possible, forcing you to resort to creating them with your computers.

However, when it comes to computers, this process can become a lot more complicated, as most systems rely on third party softwares to facilitate it.

Thankfully, if you are one of those people who uses Windows 10, you can create these hotspots without the help of these softwares, and directly through a few commands.

To create your own Wi-Fi hotspot, follow these steps:

  1. Open “Command Prompt As Administrator”.
  2. Type the follow command – netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=”allow” ssid=”HotspotName” key=”HotspotPassword”
  3. Replace “HotspotName” with the name of your hotspot, and “HotspotPassword” with the password you want for it.
  4. Press “Enter” and wait for confirmation regarding the creation of the hotspot.
  5. To activate this newly created hotspot, type – netsh wlan start hostednetwork
  6. You can now share your Wi-Fi with anyone you want, as long as they’re within range.
  7. To deactivate the hotspot, type – netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

With these simple steps, you will be able to easily create and manage your own Wi-Fi hotspots in PC, without the need for third party softwares.
