How To Run Windows Programs On Mac Without Bootcamp

[Use Wine Software For Cross Platform Computing]

The Mac operating system is a great platform to use for your daily computing needs. However, for users shifting form Windows, the change can be difficult as not all Windows softwares have a version dedicated for the Mac.

The only option for these situations is to either bootcamp your mac, which significantly cuts down on your computer resources, or try to find alternate software, which often aren’t as good as the real thing.

To take care of this dilemma, a software called Winebottler lets you run all your windows softwares on mac without actually bootcamping your system.

To use this software, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Winebottler DMG file.
  2. Open the file and drag the applications into the “Applications” folder.
  3. Once installed, run the software.
  4. In the “Download” section, you will see a list of pre-approved softwares.
  5. Click on any of them to download and install them.
  6. The installed applications can be seen in the “On My Mac” section.
  7. From here you can run them quite easily inside the Winebottler interface itself.
  8. You can also installed other applications by download their .exe files.
  9. Once downloaded, all you have to do is Right Click on the installation file and select “Wine” from the “Open With” menu.
  10. This will give you the option of running the software directly in wine, or converting it into an .app application for use on your mac.
