How To Setup Google Two Factor Authentication

[Log In Without The Need For A Code]

Two Factor Authentication is a great way of securing your Google account against possible intruders. However, the current method of inputing a code every time you login can be a hassle.

Google offers alternate methods of logging in, which don’t need the code but are still as secure as code based logins. One of these methods is prompts, which lets you authenticate via push notifications.

To set it up, follow these simple steps:

  1. Login to your Account Security page.
  2. Go to the “Signing In To Google” section.
  3. Enable “2 Step Verification”.
  4. In the 2 Step section, scroll down to “Set Up Alternate Second Step”.
  5. Under the “Google Prompt” title, click on “Add Phone”.
  6. Click on “Get Started”.
  7. Select your phone from the drop down menu under the “Your Phone” title.
  8. Click on “Next”.
  9. You will see a push notification on your phone.
  10. Click “Yes” to verify.
  11. You will see a Verification Popup on your computer.

With these easy steps, you can enable prompt based 2 Step Verification. From now on, anything you try to login into your google account, you will get a push notification prompt to verify the login, thus keeping your account secure. Stay Safe.
