How To Speed Up An SSD Drive

[Realign Partitions For More Speed]

There is a free software called MiniTool Partition Wizard, which lets you realign the partitions of your hard drive without hassle.

The main reason for carrying out this activity, is because if a SSD isn’t properly aligned, it can slow down the performance of the system on the whole.

While this shouldn’t be a problem for people installing a new Windows from scratch, but for those who are simply Migrating, this issue can be quite troublesome if you don’t know what it means.

Thankfully there is an easy way of finding out if your new SSD is suffering from this problem. All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

  1. Open “Start Menu”.
  2. Write msinfo32 in the search bar.
  3. Press Enter to launch the “System Information Tool”.
  4. Navigate to “Components>Storage>Disks”.
  5. On the right side, look for a section called “Partition Starting Offset”.
  6. There will be a separate value for each partition under this section.
  7. Check if the value present is divisible by 4096.
  8. If it is, then you don’t need to realign.
  9. If it isn’t, then you definitely need to realign that particular partition.
  10. Download, install and run the MiniTool Partition Wizard.
  11. You will be able to see all the partitions listed side by side.
  12. Right click on the partition you need to realign.
  13. Click on the “Align” button.
  14. Wait for the process to complete.
  15. Repeat the process for other partitions that need alignment.

With these simple steps, you will be able to easily realign the partitions on your SSD in order to help speed it up. Have fun.
