How To Control Third Party Apps With Siri

[Activate App Support For Voice Commands]

A new feature in Siri lets you use certain voice commands in order to control various apps on your smartphone, including those by third party developers.

These commands vary from app to app and offer varying degrees of control. You can use these commands at any time, as long as you have enabled these apps for Siri control.

An example of what kind of control we can expect through this feature can be seen in the Photos App update that rolled out with iOS 10.

While we can’t really say which apps do or don’t support this feature as of now, but we can teach you how to activate this support, just in case it isn’t activated on it’s own.

In order to activate this feature, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu.
  2. Scroll down to the “Siri” section.
  3. Make sure “Siri” and “Hey Siri” are active.
  4. Scroll down to the “App Support” section.
  5. Open the App Support section to find a list of apps that support Siri voice function on your phone.
  6. Toggle and activate the apps that you want to control through Siri.
  7. Check with the developers/online to find the commands for said apps.
  8. Activate Siri by saying “Hey Siri”.
  9. Use the voice commands to control the app in any way you want.

With these simple steps, you will be able to do a whole lot more with third party apps, using just Siri commands.
