How to Find Lost Or Stolen Android Phone

[Use Android Device Manager To Secure Your Phone And Data]

Losing your phone is heartbreaking. But that doesn’t mean that you should give up hope. Through Android Device Manager, you can easily track your phone and secure your data before it goes into the wrong hands.

This feature can be found in all android phones, and needs to be activated as soon as you buy your phone, in order to ensure protection.

To activate this feature, follow the following steps:

  1. Go to Settings>Security>Device Administrators.
  2. Tick the box next to “Android Device Manager”.
  3. A new window with additional options will be displayed.
  4. Select “Erase All Data” and any other options you like.
  5. Click on the “Activate” button to activate the feature.

Now comes the unfortunate part, using the feature after your phone is stolen.

Go to Android Device Manager on any browser and sign in with the Google account that you were using on the phone.

You will be able to see all your registered devices and their relevant info. From here you can either “Ring” your phone, using the default ringtone; “Track” the GPS location of the phone; and if nothing else works, “Erase” all the data you have on your phone with one click of a button.

This may not be the most effective tool in certain cases where the thief is smart and experienced enough to take precautions against these things. However, it still gives you a fighting chance to get your cherished device back.
