How To Get Samsung’s Grayscale Mode On Any Android

[Monochrome App To Enable Battery Saving Feature]

Samsung phones have a Grayscale mode that turns the screen black and white when the battery is getting low. It is a battery saving tool which helps you get extra juice out of your dying battery.

This works because unlike colored pixels, AMOLED displays don’t need battery power to display black pixels. So if you own a device with an AMOLED screen, you too could benefit from this feature.

However, currently this feature is locked to Samsung software only. But if you want to use it, you can still do it by following these simple steps:

  1. Download and install the Monochrome app.
  2. Make sure your phone is rooted.
  3. If your phone is not rooted, open the ADB Command Prompt in your computer.
  4. Connect your phone to your computer.
  5. Enter the following code – adb -d shell pm grant com.suyashsrijan.lowbatterymonochrome android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS – and press enter.
  6. Run the app and toggle the switch to activate Monochrome.
  7. Wait for your Battery to get below the “Low Battery” limit and see if it works.

With these easy steps, you can easily install and run Samsung’s Grayscale mode on any other android device with an AMOLED screen.
It may take some time and effort to root your phone, or set up ADB on your computer, but in the end, the result is worth it.
