How To Hide Notification Content From Lock Screen In Android

[Hide Sensitive Information From One Or All Apps]

One of the most common and time consuming feature of present day smartphones are the notifications that we receive from all sorts of apps, as well as our service providers.

To make it easier for us to see and interact with these notifications, the latest versions of most operating systems support the option of showcasing notifications on the lock screen.

This way you don’t have to unlock your phone every time you receive a notification. However, this feature can be quite a problem for people who are concerned about their privacy.

To assuage those concerns, these operating systems also give users the option to hide the sensitive content of these notifications from the lock screens.

To do so for a selective few apps, or all of them, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll down to “Sound & Notification”.
  2. Enter “Sound & Notification” and scroll down to “When Device Is Locked”.
  3. Tap on “When Device Is Locked” and select “Hide Sensitive Notification Content”.
  4. You can also choose to hide all notifications by selecting “Don’t Show Notifications At All”.
  5. This will hide the sensitive information for all your applications.
  6. If you want to hide the notifications for only a select few apps, go back to the “Sound & Notification” section.
  7. Select “App Notifications”.
  8. Here you will see the list of all your installed applications.
  9. Tap on any one of them, and you will get the option to “Block” all notifications from the app.
  10. Repeat this process for all the apps you want to block from sending you notifications.

With these easy steps, you will be able to hide/block notification content from the lock screen of your android smartphone.
