How To Replace Samsung Phone App With Google Dialer

[Yes, You Can Actually Do It Without Root]

Samsung’s latest Galaxy and Note devices have been a complete success but the TouchWiz interface have drawbacks compared to stock Android.

For instance, the phone app that Samsung includes with its Galaxy devices is both visually and functionally inferior to the phone app that Google includes with stock Android on its Nexus devices.

The good news is, it is now possible to replace the stock Samsung phone app with Google Dialer on Samsung Galaxy devices running under Android Marshmallow (6.0) or higher — without rooting the device.

Requirements

  • Samsung Galaxy device
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher
  • “Unknown sources” option enabled in your phone’s Security Settings.

Steps

  • Download the ported Google Phone app (.apk)
  • Install the App.
  • Navigate to Settings -> Default applications -> Calling app. There, select the “Phone” option and from then on, the Google Phone app will be your default dialer.
