How To Turn Off In App Purchases For Pokemon Go

[Easily Restrict Purchases In Both Android And iOS]

Pokemon Go is currently the most hyped game on smartphones. It’s appeal is universal, with people from all ages and social standings getting involved in the adventure.

As expected from any game of this stature, the users are given an option to do some in-app purchases if they want to speed up and enhance their experience.

These purchases are completely voluntary, yet can pose a very big problem, as we have already seen many cases of kids abusing the format without proper knowledge.

This often leads to huge bills and eventually court cases on the part of the parents, who have to then spend who knows how much time trying to get back that money.

So, in order to prevent that from happening with this app as well, you need to disable the in app purchases before you start playing. In order to do that, follow these steps:

For iOS

  1. Open “Settings” and navigate to “General”.
  2. Open “General” and navigate to “Restrictions”.
  3. Open “Restrictions” and tap to “Enable Restrictions”.
  4. Select a 4 digit password for it.
  5. Scroll down and toggle “In-app Purchases” to disable them.

For Android

  1. Open “Play Store”.
  2. Tap the “Three Dash” menu icon on the top left corner.
  3. Scroll down to “Settings”.
  4. Select “Settings” and scroll down to “Require Authentication For Purchases”.
  5. Tap “Require Authentication For Purchases” and select “For All Purchases Through Google Play On This Device”.

With these simple steps, you will be able to stop in-app purchases in both Android and Apple smartphones for Pokemon Go. Have fun.
