How To Unlock iPhone Without Pressing Home Button In iOS 10

[Easy Steps To Disable Press Based Unlocking]

For quite some time, the iPhone has had a feature that enabled users to unlock their phone just by resting their finger on the Touch ID enabled Home Button.

However, this feature has now been disabled by default in iOS 10. Now you have to press the button in order to unlock the phone. This has been done in order to let users see advanced notifications on the lock screen itself.

This feature is quite helpful for people who receive a lot of notifications, but not so fun for people who don’t like pressing the Home button every time they want to access their phones.

If you are one of the latter ones, you can just disable this feature and bring back the press-less unlocking quite easily. To do so, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll down to “General”.
  2. Open “General” and scroll down to “Accessibility”.
  3. Open “Accessibility” and scroll down to “Home Button”.
  4. Tap the “Home Button” to access the “Rest Finger To Open” feature.
  5. Tap the toggle button next to this feature to activate it.

With these easy steps, you will be able to bring back the old unlocking method with ease. Have fun.
