How to Add Speed Limit Alerts to Google Maps

[Add Speedometer And Speed Alerts On Navigation Apps]

Google Maps provides a lot of information on it’s display, but one feature that’s still lacking from it is an on-screen speedometer. If you are one of those people who would want that displayed as well, then download and setup Velociraptor, an app that shows you your current speed as well as alert you when you’re traveling above the speed limit.

All you have to do is follow these simple steps to install it.

  1. Download Velociraptor from the Play Store and install it.
  2. Once done, open the app and you’ll be redirected to the “Settings” menu.
  3. Enable both Velociraptor and the second option to “Allow Velociraptor to detect the current app by turning on its accessibility service.”
  4. You will be redirected to “Accessibility” settings, where you can enable Velociraptor.
  5. Once enabled, you can then tweak the Velociraptor settings (Speed Units, Sound Alert, Style, Speed Tolerance) to your preference.

Follow these steps and you’ll be able to see a speedometer on your Google Maps screen. You can press and drag it around to change it’s position. Just make sure you don’t use it with apps that already have speedometers (Eg. Wave) to avoid conflict.
